The Association of Learning Providers Surrey working with New Futures Recruitment to attract the best people into work based learning.

APPRENTICESHIPS

Apprenticeships are available at three levels; Intermediate, Advanced and Higher.  With over 190 different Apprenticeships available to choose from across 80 different industry sectors.

Apprentices are paid and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills.  Training consists of possible day release to College or a Training Provider as well as on the job training with a mentor.  This ensures Apprentices are working towards nationally recognised qualifications.  Anyone living in England, and over the age of 16, not in full time education can apply.  Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of qualification, the learners ability and industry sector.  All Apprentices are entitled to the minimum wage.  However many can earn significantly more.

Your training provider is usually a local College or specialist organisation responsible for your training.  A mentor is assigned to the learner and progress is tracked in conjunction with the employer.  All training providers are subject to OFSTED inspections and reports can be seen on the OFSTED website.

Key Benefits

 Want to become an Apprentice:

Getting paid while you learn might sound too good to be true — but as an Apprentice you really do get the best of both worlds.

So if you are keen to enter the world of work but don’t want to stop studying then an Apprenticeship could be the answer. They enable you to start working, earn a decent wage, all whilst learning the skills and gaining the qualifications that employers want.

If you’re still considering your options, and are under the age of 19, why not talk to a Connexions Direct Adviser? You can get in touch with them by calling on 080 800 13219 or chat with an Adviser online through their website This link opens in a new window
Alternatively if you are over 19 years of age you can contact your local Jobcentre Plus for additional help and advice. For more information, visit the Jobcentre Plus This link opens in a new window website.
