Laser Learning Awards

Laser Learning Awards (LASER) is an international awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual to offer qualifications, and is approved by the Security Industry Association (SIA) to offer licence-linked qualifications in the security sector under the brand name Trident Awards. LASER is also a QAA regulated Access Validating Agency for Access to Higher Education qualifications. In addition, we provide a wide range of education and training related support and services which can be tailored to meet your individual needs. We were established as an awarding organisation over 30 years ago and during that time we’ve developed, grown and merged with other AO’s to become the organisation we are today!

Working across the UK and internationally, LASER is a company limited by guarantee but also a registered charity, which ensures that profits made are reinvested in learning and education rather than distributed to shareholders. A Board of Trustees, made up of senior managers from education, oversees the work of LASER and ensures that our strategic objectives are met and vision of transforming people’s lives through the recognition of their learning and achievement is made reality.

Throughout our history and despite the challenges from seemingly constant changes to policy, funding and regulation, we have stuck firmly to our principles and maintained our aims of promoting widening participation, social inclusion, employer engagement, and lifetime learning for all, with a strong ethos to support disadvantaged or disenfranchised learners by encouraging their return to learning, recognising their achievements at each step of the way, and supporting them into work. We do this by creating flexible, responsive and high quality learning opportunities in a wide range of contexts, including in the community, in the classroom, at work, and through distance and e-learning.

At the heart of everything we do is the learner, and we work with our training providers and centres to ensure they have the best experience possible. Our business development manager Annette is always happy to meet with potential providers and discuss ways we can help shape your training.
