Functional Skills UK Ltd (FSUK)

Functional Skills U.K. Ltd (FSUK) is an Ofsted Grade 2 independent training provider with a direct Adult Skills Fund (ASF) contract, delivering ASF and Skills Bootcamp programmes in partnership with local authorities across the South East.

We specialise in practical, employment-focused education in English, maths, ESOL and digital skills, alongside sector-based workforce development. Our learners include unemployed adults, career changers, employees wishing to upskill within the workplace, and learners with additional needs. Inclusion is central to our approach. We embed adaptive teaching, structured pastoral support and targeted interventions to ensure learners facing barriers — including neurodiversity, low prior attainment or confidence gaps — are able to progress and succeed.

Our programmes are shaped in collaboration with employers to reflect real labour market demand and Local Skills Improvement Plan priorities. We work across priority sectors to create clear, structured pathways into sustained employment, promotion within the workplace or progression to higher-level training.

Quality, compliance and governance underpin our delivery model. We operate transparent oversight structures, detailed performance monitoring and robust data systems that track attendance, achievement, progression and destinations. This enables us to evidence impact clearly and continuously improve provision.

FSUK is currently delivering an innovative Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Edinburgh Napier University, developing AI-driven tools to enhance initial assessment, personalise learning pathways and strengthen support for neurodiverse learners. This project is strengthening both learner experience and quality assurance systems, positioning us at the forefront of AI-enabled further education practice.

We have also established a partnership with the Royal Artillery Centre for Personal Development in Hampshire, supporting service personnel and veterans to build transferable skills and progress confidently into civilian employment.

FSUK brings dependable delivery capacity, innovation, collaborative working and a strong track record of positive outcomes to regional skills partnerships and consortium delivery.
